How can young students be attracted to Nuclear Chem.?
articles in journals of general chemistry or popular science, lecture series at universities, multimedia material
show undergraduate students and our faculty colleagues that radio- chemistry is still a very active, very interesting, and interdisciplinary field
we have to realize that we have to go to the students to get them interested in our field. Since the number of science students in general is decreasing the competition to attract them to NC becomes harder
lab courses in handling radioactive substances (teach to work very carefully, because small contaminations are easy to detect – important for modern analytical chemists)
- e.g. radiation safety courses are very popular in Germany for students of biochemistry, geology, educational science
international collaborations, international summer schools
explaining the job opportunities, like the ANS does already
